 Last time we talked about the BIG DIRTY WORD, GRAMMAR! 

But today it's time to have a little more FABULOUS FUN!  What of the English games out there?...  

As it turns out, the internet is full of ways to have fun, while learning, some of the games can even be pretty addictive... This is especially true for people with SMART PHONES or TABLETS!  
 
If you like to play SCRABBLE, there are HUNDREDS of sites with scrabble games going on... I prefer this one. Just click, and you can play against a computer, or, for more fun, against another person!  You can also download the app here.


Personally I really like the following game, APPLES TO APPLES.  Basically it's a vocabulary game, but you'll fall out of your chair laughing... Try and see HERE...

Answer: You can pretty much get all of these, FOR FREE, on the internet.  AND, while your having fun, you may pick up some English skills too.  

Obviously, I am writing for my ESL people out there, but I think you natives will find this informative and helpful as well, ( and maybe you can use it in YOUR classrooms... )

Hello, there. So many news about serious of earthquakes occurred in last few days in japan.
こんにちは、今朝も地震に関するニュースが多くのTVで放送されていました。
水曜日に地震があってから、日本各地で地震が起きていますね。

How do people react during shakes usually?
楽観主義なので、いつも地震が起きている瞬間は「まぁ大丈夫だろう」と余裕を取り繕って
揺れが収まるのを待つのですが、やはり本心は怖いです。
3.10の東北大震災を思い出させるのか、アメリカを始め海外のニュースでも取り上げられています。

Actually when I was watching those news on TV that was my first time reminding scary truth "Fukushima nuclear plant is not only one we should warn of, there are many in other areas!!".
 Facts and fears from occupying several plants in such small land suddenly came up in my mind, and they make me realize level of dangers in the worst situation if great earthquake hits whole Japan island considering to factories of Elec-power.
2011年の震災直後に、東京に在住している外国籍の友人の多くが
「日本は、まだこの状況だと”危険”としか判断できないから」と主張して
近隣国の東南アジアや自分の国に避難していました。

当時は「そんなパニックにならなくても日本なら平気だよ」と根拠もなく話していましたが、
個人的には、小さな揺れが長期にわたって続く方が、とても恐怖を覚えます。
今なら、彼らの主張していた気持ちが少しわかります。


I really hope 大惨事 would never happen again.

Friday night is for my favorite, ”Movie Night"

1週間がやっと終わりましたね、How was your week? Was it good?

今週は新学期も始まったので、REEDOもバタバタしていました。
天気もよくて陽気になりますね。やっぱり日本の"4月始まり"って、新しいことを始めるのにBest Seasonだな、と思います。気温もいいし、自然も芽吹いて豊かになるし、そのせいか人間もほのぼのしてるし。

Anyway, 今日は"花金"ですね。英語でも"Friday Night"が意味するのは
1週間で仕事・学校が終わる日なので「よっしゃ、はっちゃけちゃおう」的な日ってことなんですよ。

僕は映画が大好きな"Movie Freak ( 映画ヲタク )"なので、
今夜もワインを飲みながら映画を見ました。
レンタルしたのだけれど、感情移入できなくて途中で飽きてしまったので
今日はOne of My favorite movie（お気に入りの映画のうちの一つ）を紹介します。

Princess MONONOKE ( もののけ姫 )

This movie got high scored review in foreign lands, especialy in Europe.
A theme of this movie is how human being and other species can be survived together with no-battle ( no occupation for one elemental resource ), and it has great describing of character which is focusing on a position fated to stand middle of many relations as one depending pure existing.

A main person from the film guy named ASHITAKA boned as a princess in a traditional small village is going to get involved with complex human connections, but his never-giving-up soul is really moving for me. It reminds me "How hero should be", and could not get exited in other American Heroism like deciding good/bad positions.


近々、海外の劇団のオファーにスタジオジブリが賛同して、舞台化をするらしいです。
僕は、必ず見に行こうと思います。



暖かくなると、ついついハメをはずしちゃう事もあるので、自宅で静かに映画もいいもんですよ。

芝生の上でCommunication

こんにちは。


東京で芝生でくつろげる場所は、とても少ないですね。
暖かいこんな気候になってきたからこそ、感覚を思い出して寂しくなります。
I really miss hanging out in lawn field.

でも、東京は土地が狭いから、公園で我慢するしかないですね。
それでも、気持ちいいからenough, enough.(充分, 充分)


アメリカは、どこにでも芝生(lawn)があるような気がします。
住宅の敷地内にもあるし、屋外で気軽に過ごせる場があって便利。
フリーマーケットを週末に開いてみたり、ＢＢＱをやったり、ただ友達とダラダラしたり。

アメリカのキャンパスでみんなブレイク中

Communication Placeとしても、意外と重要だったりします。
ここで友達ができることなんかもあります。

天気がよい日には、外で英語の勉強をしてみるのもいいかもしれないですよ。
もしかしたら、私みたいに"芝生が恋しい外国人”がいて、お友達になれるかも。　:)

朝食はBurritoがお気に入り

Good morning, guys there, おはようございます。

みんなの朝ごはんの定番って何ですか？

ご飯＋納豆＋お味噌汁??

トースト＋シリアル＋ミルク??

そんなベタな組み合わせのメニューの日もあるけれど

僕の朝食は、基本的にはブリトー(burrito)ばかり。

だって、おいしいし食べやすいし早いからかなぁ。

アメリカには"Breakfast Brrito ( ブレックファストブリトー) "っていう

朝食に食べるブリトーがあるんです。

大学時代、毎朝講義に遅刻しそうで、走りながら食べていたのが懐かしい :P

僕のキャンパス内のカフェテリアでは、好きな具を選んで注文するスタイル。

サブウェイのサンドイッチの具を選ぶのと同じ仕組み。

日本ではブリトー自体がそんなに有名ではないよね。

トルティーヤっていう小麦粉で作られた生地で具をラップして手で持って食べるんです。

日本でマクドナルドが各駅にあるみたいに、アメリカではメキシコ料理のファストフードが沢山あるんですよ。だから、結構どこでも食べることができます。
